Baby K | Mill Valley In Home Newborn Session

A few days after Christmas, I had the pleasure of documenting some of the first moments of a new family of three. In my initial phone consultation, we discussed the process of an in-home newborn session. We discussed stying, whether they want nursing photos, best light in the house and how they would like to use the photos.

What unfolded was a narrative of genuine connections, first-time parenting, and the tender, quiet joy that fills a newborn baby's home. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the serene sight of Baby K asleep in his mom's arms. The parents were undeniably smitten with their newest family member. We started the session  in the master bedroom, capturing intimate moments, before moving to the nursery, where Dad took center stage, rocking, swaddling, and singing to his tiny bundle of joy. The crib shot, showcasing the baby's small form against the backdrop of the nursery, left us in awe of the preciousness of these early days.

Venturing downstairs, we paused for a few moments near the Christmas tree and stockings. The soft, streaming light provided the perfect backdrop to capture Mom nursing, showing the deep and delicate connection between mother and baby. It was a genuine portrayal of the everyday beauty found in these quiet family moments.

In documenting this new family's journey, I not only captured the visual tale of their beginning but also the emotional undertones of the quiet joy that permeated their home. It's moments like these that make newborn photography more than just an art form and I am so happy this family documented it. πŸ“Έβœ¨πŸ’•
